Fordham, 70, of West Monroe was held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Luellen officiating. Interment followed at Zoar Cemetery in Chatham, LA.

 

Mr. Fordham was born October 8, 1938 in Ouachita Parish, LA and passed away September 20, 2009 in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Fordham was a licensed funeral director with Hixson Funeral Home for 25 years and with Mulhearn Funeral Home for over 20 years. Sammy was an avid outdoorsman. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Lois Fordham; and brother, Jerry Dayton Fordham, Jr.

 

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Flo Fordham; daughter, Timpia McCain and husband Charlie; son, Scott Fordham and wife Christy; brother, Gene Fordham and wife LaRue; grandchildren, Al McCain and wife Sonya, Sam McCain, and Mallory McCain; great grandchildren, Zoie and Aurora; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

Pallbearers will be Brad Fordham, Mark Lewis, Cliff Barmore, Ricky Barmore, Roger Smith, and Mark Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Fontaine Emmons, Pete Leggett, Dr. Albert Donald, Dr. Clyde Elliott, Thomas Wilder, Earl Williams, Wiley Roach, Tom Mulhearn, Cory Mulhearn, Gus Antis, Michael Mulhearn, and Mike Mulhearn.

 

Visitation was held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Memorials may be made to the Zoar Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 86 Chatham, LA 71226.
