What is LFDA?

The Louisiana Funeral Directors Association was formed in 1918 by unlicensed undertakers who met to create a full-fledged profession from a group of tradespeople. Almost 100 years later, the association still strives to promote integrity in the funeral service industry through education, legislation, networking, and communications. As an association, we have become a strong voice on both state and national legislative issues because of our willingness to strive for a higher degree of professionalism.

We are an association of progress that is continually growing and evolving for the benefit of the membership and, most importantly, for the preservation of our professionalism and integrity to the public. The greatest strength we have in our association is the members and their willingness to be involved. As an association, we take a back seat to no other because we remain active and continue to search for and explore new ideas.
